  • 365 days of Duolingo

Today I managed to complete a 365 day streak of “Imparare a parlare Italiano” with Duolingo.

Taking a break from Dou now :-)

  • Fujifilm ISO settings

Copied from good suggestions of “The Correct Fujifilm X100VI Settings” by Roman Fox.

Found that the auto iso settings are saved in Custom Settings so I had to put them into each of the three I currently set up.

The settings also apply to other Fuji cameras, as well as perhaps other manufacturers cameras.

Currently trying them out to see if they fit for me.

    Auto ISO 1 – Daytime

    • Min Shutter – 1/200
    • Min ISO – 125
    • Max ISO – 6400

    Auto ISO 2 – Night

    • Min Shutter – 1/100
    • Min ISO – 500
    • Max ISO – 6400

Auto ISO 3 – High Shutter Priority

    • Min Shutter – 1/500
    • Min ISO – 1000
    • Max ISO – 12800

  • Principles of how to win friends and influence people

    Don’t critize, condemn or complain.
    Give honest and sincere appreciation.
Arouse in the other person an eager want.
Become genuinely interested in other people.
    Smile.
Remember that a person’s name to that person is the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
Talk in terms of the other person’s interest.
Make the other person feel important – and do it sincerely.
The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.
Show respect for the other persons’s opinions. Never say, “You’re wrong.”
If you are wrong, admit it quickly and emphatically.
    Begin in a friendly way.
Get the other person saying “yes, yes” immediately.
Let the other person do a great deal of the talking.
Let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers.
Try honestly to see things from the other person’s point of view.
Be sympathetic with the other person’s ideas and desires.
    Appeal to the nobler motives.
    Dramatize your ideas.
    Throw down a challenge.
Begin with praise and honest appreciation.
Call attention to peoples mistakes indirectly.
Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person.
Ask questions instead of giving direct orders.
Let the other person save face.
Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be “hearty in your appreciation and lavish in your praise.”
Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to.
Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct.
Make the other person happy about doing thing you suggest.

  • 82,6 kilo

    Anklage/skyld
    Forsvar
    Foragt
    Afvisning

  • More CO2

This week studies came out that CO2 values are ever rising.
We have all heard about it.
Are we doing enough? Obvousily not.
Are we gonna learn in time? Probably not.

  • If all people consumed like danes…

We would need 4 planets to sustain.

When will man realize that happiness does not lie in consumption and that it is unsustainable.

Look at what you do that puts the most strain on environment? Stop that!

Look at what you can live without?

Then just do it before you or your children are forced to?  Take it down a notch!

    56:41 med en gennemsnitlig hjerterytme på 167 slag i minuttet så kan man mærke man lever. Ikke nogen fantastisk men dog OK tid – især varmen og min øvrige tilstand taget i betragtning – to stykker kage til frokost ;-}

Dejlig tur i godt vejr.

  • 11,75 km/t

PS. Nephew er for fede. Overvejer seriøst at tage til Vig festival for at se dem live.

  • Jacko down

Michael Jackson has died. Too soon but inevitable. May he rest in peace at last.
To be sure the media has picked up on this, google stalled and twitter went down. Radio has been playing his music all day – even during the news on the main national public service channel!
Personally, I loved his early work and respected his deterioating attempts after departing with Quincy Jones. Surely a genius wonder kid but as always at a price. The best never seem to last long.

  • 10.4 km in 53.41

Down to 5:10 min/km with an average heart rate of 176 b/min maxing out at 185 b/min.
Very good on top of a full weekend of leisure and a parma and gorgonzola pizza on top ;-)
Summertime is here and I feel allright.

  • First 10 km post marathon

During the afternoon I had developed aheadache – probably because I’m testing new contact lenses – but decided to get out the door anyways. It was nice, beautiful weather and it felt good – though it was a bit tough going longer than 5 km :-) Actually took away the headache which then came back a little upon returning and discussing with my teenage daughter.
My right groin/hip or whatever it is is still bugging me but I’m coping.

  • Getting out of the comfort zone

Got out again this evening and tried to do some intervals. Maxed out at 188 bpm with an average of 167 bpm. I had to swing by the local grocery so the finishing time was 34:52. From the heart rate graph it looks like I hit the grocery store at about 27 minutes which is pretty good fro 5.25 km (5,10 min/km).

  • I’m good

Even though my injury has plagued me for a fortnight and the run yesterday was a little painful I’m happy to say that today it was okay. Can’t wait to get out again – it’s just that tonight the rain won’t stop.

  • Back on track

After a fortnight pause I’m back on track finishing the usual 5,15km in 28:55. The hurt in my groin has diminished but I felt it all the way through – I hope tomorrow will not be too painful.

  • Run like whipped

200905261959dsc_4737Run like whippedGot out today to get some circulation back in my sore legs. The first km was really tough – my right groin still need some breaking in and so did the rest of the muscles in my legs.
Ran into a thunder shower about halfway which may have helped me get home sooner ;-) Soaking wet I finished the 5,15 km route in 26:46.
It helped my sore legs and my self-esteem :-)

  • Finished Copenhagen Marathon in 4:33:21

Culmination finally. It was tough – the last 12 km really hurt! I was on the virge to quit every minute.
Oh well, I got over the finish line and that’s just great. Now my legs hurt, probably like never before.

  • 10 km after work

Today after I got home from work I jogged a 10,4 km trip in 55 minutes. Still need to get my groin warmed up before a little pain goes away.

  • A week to go

Another week has gone, I’ve been swimming two times 1 km and running 10 km yesterday. This morning I swam 2 km.
The pain in my groin has not gone completely but I think it’s better know.
A week from now I will probably be running down by Kalvebod Brygge. Can’t wait to see how it pans out.

  • Another 2 km…

Of swimming, though this time was way harder. Today I really felt the difference between having rested the day before and having running 18 km. I managed to pull of the 80 laps but it felt like double up. Maybe it was also because it was only two days since last I swam 2 km ;-)
Well the pain in my right groin wont go away. Tomorrow I’m going to have my legs massaged – that might help – not sure if it is wise to keep on running.

  • Anxiety kicks in

Now less than a fortnight away I’m wondering if I can make it, how will the last 12 km be, will it be a rain storm…!
Well this morning I got out of bed and after the mandatory oatmeal I tanked a couple of small water bottles, geared up the blackberry and started out. 18 km and 1:43 later again I stood before my front door.
Actually that helped a bit on the anxiety – I felt like I could easily have continued today, so if I feel like that in 14 days I think I can do it.

  • Double up on swimming

Today after my spouse’s sister and her kids left I went to the swimming facility and completed 2 km in a little less than an hour. It was very nice and I didn’t even feel tired afterwards.
Still sore in my right groin but I walked about 6 km this afternoon and that helped a little for now. Not sure if I’m running or swimming tomorrow?

  • 10,5 km in my legs

After work I got out the door and humped the first few hundred meters to get my joints going ;-) Well I managed to keep it up for 10,5 km at an average pace of 5:44 min/km. Not too bad considering I’m still in restitution! Tomorrow will probably be resting/touring around town though.

  • Swim-run-swim

Slowly restituting from sundays torment. Monday evening I swam 1 km, tuesday I managed to run only 5 km but pretty fast (5.16 min/km) by my standards and wednesday having problem with my upper right thigh but swam 1 km again. Tomorrow I need to go 10 km…
I have now run almost 300 km with the iPod/Nike+ since 9th of february ;-)

  • Today I met the wall

Probably not fully recovered from last weeks attempt I set out for a long one this morning. I had originally planned that it should only be 18 km but on the way down the stairs I decided this was the last chance to go for another 30 km before may 24th.
About one third into the distance I began feeling the soreness in my thighs that I had experienced last saturday – only when I was 23 km out ;-)
I managed to keep a steady pace around 6 min/km until 26.75 km when I was unable to continue to run. I walked for a bit and tried getting up again but never succeeded for more than a few hundred meters at a time. Finished in 3:17:37 with an average of 6:35 min/km which is slower than I had hoped for but considering the circumstances OK.
Weighing in at 77,2 Kg just after running and a glass of water.

  • Back on track

Yesterday was the longest day I had for a long while. I got up at 6:30 to get to the swimming facility at 7. The went on to work. Planned and started a server rebuild before going to a little photowalk at 18:00. Got back to work at around 20:00 and fiddled with this rebuild until 7:00 in the morning!
Had a few half hour power naps while waiting but I felt like I had ben on my feet for 24 hours ;-)
Today I got out of bed after noon and ran for about an hour covering a distance of 10,2 km. It is stille a little hard to run for the stifness and sore of my legs from this saturday tornment. Today was also the day I realized I need to go for a another 30 km trip this next weekend before it’s to close to the 24th.

  • Extra swimming and less running

Today I had a chance to go swimming after work which was probably much better for my legs than running. After dinner I persuaded my spouse to go for a little jog. We jogged and walked 3.97 km in about half an hour ;-) Oh well it was OK to go easy on my sore thighs.
Tommorrow morning I’m planning on swimming another km before work.

  • Kissed the wall today

Felt allright this morning so after munching my oatmeal and brushing my teeth I geared up with at litte water and a banana and set out on the milestone trip.
Problem arose around the 23rd km – legs began to hurt a little and fatigue set in. I ate the pain and continued though a bit slow.
Three hours and six minutes later again I stand before my door having problems breathing and legs feeling funny ;-) Oh well I managed to climb the stairs but I really can’t imagine continuing for another 12 km! I guess I gotta work with that thought.
    Further this indicates I’m gonna have problems keeping up with the 6 min/km crew :-{
Now I’m off the an eat’n’drinkathon but I’m planning on a long swim tomorrow morning at nine. Weight is down to 77,8 so I guess I can eat a bit.

  • Friday morning and swimming again

Overslept a little but still managed to get into the water at 7:15. Feel good friday. And then my body sent me a warning. This afternoon I drank a single beer and had a little candy at work and when I got home a felt a little sick – like from driving/seasick. Had to talk in the big phone and now I’m not so sure about my big plans for tomorrow.

  • Company run

Today a colleague and a friend joined the 10 km round. The timing wasn’t good but I guess the tempo was about my usual.
Still 10 km in the legs are always good ;-) Tomorrow morning it’s swimming again.

  • Swimming in the morning

This morning I got up an hour earlier and did my usual routine before checking in at the local swimming facility.
Bought myself a month of swimming that runs out at exactly the 24th of may.
Hopped in the water and swam the usual 40 laps covering a distance of 1 km. Actually made it to work in good time as well.
Looking forward to a month of alternating between running and swimming.o

  • Moving on

Got out after work and did the usual 10,39 km in 56:57 – approximately one minute better than last week. I felt better too and I actually thought about prolonging the trip while I was in the first half ;-) Well, I didn’t and that was probably fine.
Thinking about getting up early in the morning to go swimming before work.

  • Half-marathon completed in less than 2h

This morning I got up at 6:30 to get some food aboard in time to digest before the offical start at 9:30.
The first 15 km was really good. I was well ahead of the 2h crew and picked up in this bird with good speed. At 15 km it turned out to be a mistake ;-} I couldn’t keep the pace and slowed down to a crawl. Almost got scooped up by the 2h crew but managed to get over the finish line in 1:59.
I hope I learnt two things today. To start out slow and finish fast if you can. That if I dare attempt the 42 km it’s gonna be with the 6 min/km crew.

  • 26 min/km

I was swimming ;-) The day before the half-marathon. I’m low in energy if I ever was.
One positive point is my weight today control meassured at the swimming facility is down to 78,9 kg.
Now I just need to relax, stretch out and take in some energizing food to be ready for tomorrow at 9:30. Oh and hit the hairdresser, drag home groceries, mount a board on a wall and visit some friends tonight.

  • Slowing down a bit

Today I finished the 10,4 km in 58 minutes. Don’t know if it was the wind or if it’s me being low on energy. The half-marathon this sunday is gonna be tough for me.
Good news is that weight is down to 79,1 kg!

  • 10 at 5:30 min/km

Tonight I managed to get out the door even though my stomach is still not good. Went rather well. Weight is right on 80!

  • Another 10 down

Not going exactly according to the plan but I’m doing the best I can under the circumstances :-} Today I managed to fit 10,4 km in before going to the family easter holliday gathering. Finished in 58:04.

  • 5,1 km in 27:04

Didn’t have much time this morning so I had to make do with the little 5,1 km trip round the cemetery. Tried out my new shoes bought yesterday and though I’m not quite sure they compare with the previous pair they carried me over in a good 5:30 min/km pace ;-)

  • Up again

The human body is a fragile mechanism. Since sunday morning when I got up to go for a long one I’ve had trouble with my stomach. I suspect is was a mouthful of water that was the first to come out through the pipes in the garden house after winter. Tasted odd, didn’t think more of it and emptied the glass in the garden, flushed it and the next glass tasted a lot better after the tap had run for a bit.
Well I didn’t run on sunday an the next three days. So today I’m weighing in at 80,5 kg and has managed to go for a 8 km run on half a banana.
Went rather well though a bit bumpy according to the pod, finished in 44:14 resulting in an average pace of 5:28 min/km.

  • Keeping it up

Another 10 km in my legs at a pace of 5:33 min/km. Not too bad though I felt it should have been better. This was probably due to the sun shining or could it be that I changed back to listening to R&B instead of my faster paced rock playlist ;-)
