Nikon Coolscan V

Following the acquisition of an analog 35 mm film camera I searched and found a used Nikon Coolscan V in Åre, Sweden by means of fotosidan.se classifieds section.
It’s a great scanner if you have patience and color negatives and positives to scan. It takes a lot of time to scan the film but if the capture is good the scanned result is equally good. Initially i had some problems with green noise in the shadows of underexposed images but after looking into the options available and the different function. RTFM!
Black and white negatives are another story – I found that the ICE (noise reduction) does not work with silverbased B&W film. ICE should work with C41 dye-based film though but I have yet to confirm this.
